Making sense of end-of-world talk

November 27, 2009

Many people are talking about 2012 – to be specific, December 21, 2012. They say the world will end on that day.

I don’t believe it. But some people say the theory is backed by scientists, religion, ancient signs and drawings.

The prediction is mostly drawn from the Mayan calendar. According to some people, December 21, 2012, is the end of a cycle in the Mayan calendar. When that day comes, new lands, mountains, lakes, oceans and people will appear.

Meanwhile, others say there is scientific evidence that a dark planet called Nibiru will pass close by or hit the earth. They predict the earth will stop turning for three days and the planet will be rocked by earthquakes and tsunamis. Continents might break apart.

I find all this very hard to believe, but the topic is all over the internet.

I guess we’ll all just have to wait and see.

Everybody is moaning about 2012 (The End of The World) , and nobody knows what’s gonna happen.

You just need to let time fly and see what happens. Some people say it will happen, others don’t believe in this story.

But the threat that the world is going to end might have some good. People will do nice things to each other! Try and make it a better world before it is destroyed.

So why not think for yourself that tomorrow the world is going to end? Remind this to yourself everyday and at least you will not regret anything.

Have a heart for everybody. Who knows you might be the one to save the world!

Recently, everyone are talking about a hit Hollywood movie 2012. They all doubt that whether the world really ends three years later. Though numbers of experts reject the idea, it rings a bell to us.

Different people have different views on this matter. Some may be really panic and decide to plan a schedule for the remaining three years. While some see it nonsense, they live as normal and turn a deaf ear to it.

Frankly to say, I don’t believe in this message, yet I really concern about it.

It is no denying that our Earth has been becoming ill for a long long time and it seems to recover impossibly. The increasing world temperature as well as the melting of ice in polars are the powerful evidences. Being one in the earth, all of ushave the responsibilty to save our Earth, save our planet. Don’t you want to live in an ideal place with no pollution or no disaster? Don’t you want to live in peace with no disturbance?Do you want to live on sea or live on land? I am sure all have the same answers — we refuse any kind of changes!

So do I. I love all the thing I possess now. I love all the people being with me now. Our future is full of uncertainty, still we can do something to deal with it. Just be more environmental-friendly to curb the climatic change. Of utmost significance, please cherish all the ones beside you!

Some people believe the world will come to an end on December 21, 2012, although scientists say this is nonsense and there is no scientific proof for it.

I recently watched the hit Hollywood movie 2012. It revolves around a man who battles to save his ex-wife and their children, and also her boyfriend, as the global disaster unfolds.

The film reveals both the positive and negative sides of humans. After returning from the cinema, I started to think about whether the world could possibly end in a further three years.

I hope not. If the multiple catastrophes do really happen, we could all be dead. It would be so horrible – I can’t even think about being separated from my loved ones. Facing such an uncertain future, we should treasure what we have now – our family and friends. I love them all and I hope you do too.

    Yup.
My teacher also mentioned that the Mayan Calender just told us that the day in 2012 was just a cycle, but not the doomsday.
However, people claim that we will all die
